Pyroport reviews the new Panasonic CW-8123B slim DVD drive developed for laptops. Surprisingly, we didn't know you could buy internal laptop drives.

“The Panasonic CW-8123 is far from a performance drive, it also does not come with some of the favoured accessories (mounting screws, CDR software). But for builders of an EPIA based system where space is at a premium that requires the use of a slimline drive then the drive must be on your list of possible candidates.
Granted, the drive isn’t the fastest one on the market – but we have yet to see another slot-loading slimline drive that can read every format we threw at it for under £75. “
