PNY Overclocks New Vertio GeForce 6800 GS

New PCI Express graphics card, based upon Nvidia's GeForce 6 series graphics chip, features a 470 GPU clock and 256MB of GDDR3 memory with a 1.1GHz memory data rate.

PNY Technologies today said they were releasing a new overclocked graphics card based upon the Nvidia GeForce 6 series. The Verto GeForce 6800 GS PCI Express is available now for $279.

The GeForce 6800 GS PCI Express features a 470 GPU clock, 256MB of GDDR3 memory with a 1.1GHz memory data rate and comes equipped with DVI + VGA + HDTV/S-Video outputs. It offers Microsoft DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 support, an integrated HDTV encoder with video scaling and filtering and 64-bit floating point texture filtering and blending.

“Next generation games such as F.E.A.R. and Call of Duty 2 will reap the benefits of an overall performance boost to run games at adrenaline pumping rates and even higher resolution settings than before,” said Marca Armstrong, PNY Technologies senior marketing manager for PC systems, in a statement. “Without compromising performance, our new Verto GeForce 6800 GS card provides gamers with the power of Shader Model 3.0, High Dynamic-Range (HDR) lighting and Scalable Link Interface at a midrange price point.”
