Accor North America has reached an agreement with T-Mobile USA Inc. to install wireless Internet access at all of its Red Roof Inns over the next year.
Red Roof Inns have joined the growing list of hotel chains that offer wireless high-speed Internet access to their guests. According T-Mobile and Accor Hotels, the wireless hotspots will work in guest rooms and common areas, such as lobbies and conference rooms. The companies plan an official announcement sometime today.
The wireless access comes from T-Mobile’s Hotspot service. Customers who don’t already subscirbe to Hotsopt will be charged $6 for the first hour or $9.99 per day. First-time users staying at a Red Roof Inn will get a free day pass.
The service will first be installed in newly renovated hotels in Detroit, Cleveland, Washington, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Columbus, Ohio, Accor spokeswoman Kelley Johnson said.
