Example: my acquistion of a Benq internal that at the time (about 4 years ago) was self-lauded as the "fastest" - it never worked for me. One suggestion for this unit: back off the burn rate if you're getting error messages; it's proven effective for me when in doubt. The furnished Nero software has worked well; it also works with Decryp and Clone DVD software (in my experience) which distinguishes it from other external burners (a major plus). The toggle on/off switch is a good feature; the 840U is also relatively unobtrusive in size. Recommended.
