Sony will bundle Roxio's Toast 6 Lite software for the Mac with their new DRX-710 UL-T Dual RW DVD+R DL recorder.
Together with the Toast DVD+R Double Layer capabilities, this state-of-the-art external drive will enable Mac users to burn nearly twice the amount of personal data (from 4.7GB to 8.5GB), or record more than three hours of MPEG-2 (DVD-quality) video content on a single DVD+R DL disc more quickly and easily than was possible on previous DVD drive series. In addition to double layer recording capabilities, the DRX-710UL -T will support both DVD-RW and DVD+RW formats at 4x speed, the DVD + R formats at 16 x speed, the DVD-R format at 8x speed, the CD-R format at 48x speed and the CD-RW at 24x speed.
With Toast 6 and the Sony DRX-710UL – T drive, businesses will have the power and flexibility to burn and store a large volume of data or digital media files quickly and easily in any DVD format. Consumers will benefit from the ability to back up non-encrypted dual-layer DVDs without having to first compress to fit onto a single layer recordable DVD, a step which can sacrifice video quality.
