Sony's new VAIO VGN-TXN10 notebook features integrated EV-DO capabilities for wireless broadband speeds.
If you are a Sprint subscriber, you can now benefit from Sony’s new VAIO VGN-TX10 series notebook computers thanks to integrated EV-DO capabilities. Sony is calling their new technology "SmartWi" because it integrates wireless WAN, 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth. Users can easily switch between the wireless options depending on their needs.
Other features on these new notebook computers include a light-weight carbon fiber chassis weighing in at a mere 2.8 pounds and less than an inch thick, an Intel Core Solo processor, G-Shock hard drive protection and a new 11.1-inch XBRITE screen for added brightness and vibrant colors.
Sprint will be upgrading their EV-DO service shortly to include broadband upload speeds in select areas. Consumers using the new network can expect speeds of 450 to 800 kbps for downloading content and upload speeds of 300 to 400 kbps.
The new notebook computers will start at around $2,300 and will be available in charcoal, platinum, sienna, and slate blue, through Sony’s website.
