Sony is planning to release their 40GB portable photo storage device, the HDD Photo Storage HDPS-M1, for sale in Japan on June 18.
According to a story at TechJapan, the pocket-sized photo storage device features a 2.5-inch 40GB hard drive, Memory Stick and Compact Flash slots, and a USB 2.0 interface.
The device can copy images directly from the media slot to the hard drive and is designed to be a mobile photo storage solution, as well as an external hard drive. It works with Windows ME, 2000, XP and Mac OS X 10.3 and above.
Supported operating systems are Windows ME, 2000, XP, and Mac OS X 10.3 and above.
The internal lithium ion battery can power the unit for about 60 minutes. The main body size is 135 x 92 x 30mm (W x D x H), and the weight is 300g. It includes “Photo Diary” software, an AC adapter, carrying case, and USB cable.
