Sony Vaio TT Lightest Blu-ray Notebook

Sony's Vaio TT ultra-portable notebook is less than an inch thick and weighs just 2.87 pounts...and it packs a Blu-ray drive.

Sony has unveiled its Vaio TT ultra-portable notebook computer, making a play for consumers who want their computers to be small and light—but still pack entertainment power. The Vaio TT measures less than an inch thick and weights just 2.87 pounds, but selected models also pack a Blu-ray drive and can push 1080p high-definition video out an HDMI port to an HDTV.

The Vaio TT features an 11.1-inch widescreen LCD display with LED backlighting, an Intel Centrino 2 processor, two RAID-capable 128 GB solid-state drives for a total of 250 GB of storage, support for EV-DO Rev A wireless broadband from Sprint, a choice of WIndows Vista editions (even Windows XP on some models!), up to 4 GB of RAM, an integrated Web cam, gigabit Ethernet, stereo Bluetooth, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi wireless networking, 2 USB 2.0 ports, and an integrated card reader.

Pricing on the Vaio II starts around $2,000, with a Blu-ray equipped version starting at about $2,700, and the SSD-equipped moel starting around $2,750. The TT’s will be available in black, champagne, and red; it looks like they’re available now through Sony’s online store.
