Booq Python Catch bag has enough room for 2 DSLRs, laptop, and accessories

Booq has added another camera bag to its Python collection, called the Python Catch ($295). While it may be a little pricey for a shoulder/messenger bag, Booq promises it’s worth the protection that’s offered; it’s also big enough to store all of your photo gear, and then some. As for bag design, it’s pretty stylish.

The Catch has a main compartment with three heavily padded dividers and four padded sub-dividers that help separate gear. It also has an interior flap with transparent pockets for small items, and a zippered pocket on the back that can fit a 15-inch laptop. Booq says the bag can accommodate two DSLR cameras, up to four lenses, and a MacBook Pro, with a few more small pieces thrown in. Additional exterior storage pockets include a zipper pocket, two side pockets, and a zippered pocket in the front of the bag, which are useful for storing a mobile phone, pens, and other essentials. In addition to handles and a shoulder strap, the Python catch has a rear strap that makes it easy to secure our bag on a luggage trolley for easier travel.

Environmentally friendly construction and material help make the bag durable and highly protective. The exterior fabric is weatherproof, and it is made from 47-percent recycled polyester and 53-percent cotton. If you’re caught in the rain, the bag includes a cover with reflective elements that lend extra protection as well as higher visibility.

Empty, the bag weighs under 2.5 pounds. This may seem weighty, but it’s necessary for the protection and flexibility that the Catch provides. Even if you aren’t toting camera gear, it’s a good carry-all for any kind of portable equipment. Of course, fully loaded to the max, it’s going to be hefty to carry.

Booq offers a five-year warranty and a Terralinq serial number, which is a unique identification built into the bag. The Terralinq service helps in recovery, should your bag get lost and someone reports it in.
