SteelSeries, a developer of gaming gear, announces a five layered mouse pad targeted towards giving gamers the ultimate way to move their mouse around.

Serious PC gamers need a serious gaming…mouse pad? That’s the idea behind the new SteelPad 5L gaming mouse pad announced yesterday by SteelSeries, a maker of gaming gear. This mouse pad on steroidsis priced at $39.99.   The SteelPad 5L gaming mouse pad, said SteelSeries, reportedly allows users the ability to maneuvertheir optical, laser and ball mice with a high rate of ease and speed as they frankly click away to kill something. The pad has a special five layer design which combines plastic, polyisoprene, cloth, and rubber to create a unique surface.   More details on what each layer offers the SteelPad 5L, according to SteelSeries:

  • A top layer of thin plastic coating, ensuring the durability and maintaining the texture of the underlying material.
  • A highly durable and extremely strong layer of cloth material to provide a smooth, gliding surface. Unique texture  allows for minimal mouse movements and maximum precision.
  • Specially-treated soft polyisoprene for softness, easing the strain on players’ wrists for hazard-free extended use.
  • Hard plastic compound that maintains the stability and shape of mouse pad while ensuring consistent gliding experience, even on uneven surfaces.
  • Small, soft rubber elements ensure complete, non-slippery steadiness during use.
