  1. JD at 11:25pm 12th August 2007 Mediamax did another change in june and again this was a big failure. For about 8 weeks the service was not available at all and they are still recovering the problems. They cannot say when the problems are solved. Support hardly answers to calls. Uploading is very slow, files don't appear or after days. Old files disappeared and mediamax claims they will need weeks or months to recover files. Quite some people claim early credit card withdrawals.

  2. Eric Larson at 1:33pm 11th July 2007 I was always super happy with Steamload until it became MediaMax. The problems with MediaMax are still on going.

I have since switched to a new service but I still have a bunch of videos I can't download that I would like to get back.

Don't trust them, find another service.
  3. Mike Edwards at 7:01pm 13th June 2007 We have been mediamax clients for years. After Streamload became mediamax we experienced a whole raft of problems. The biggest issue is down time - sometimes for days on end (here in Australia, as 'maintenance' is done 'overnight' (our day time). Worst? No customer service when we are unable to access our account. This month ... double billing and we're locked out of our account because we 'haven't paid'. Hmmmm.
  4. Tom Wollschlaeger at 2:47pm 16th January 2007 Streamload design and features were superior to the new MediaMax. Why did this happen? There is no longer full folder sharing of my photos with friends who previously only needed to know my account name to access, see and download my photos. Now, under MediaMax, I have to send a hyperlink of each photo I want to share with each of my friends. Photos in my FileManager folder cannot be conveniently copied or moved to my SharePhoto albums without having to upload all over again. Also MediaMax is dog slow for dialup modem users. It also is restricted to only Internet Explorer version 6 users, where Streamload supported version 5 users. How sad. Hence why intially my files "seemed" to be missing, but then appeared when using IE version 6. Yet another unappealing behavior. I am not renewing my membership with MediaMax this year.
  5. iamano at 3:15pm 7th January 2007 I'm angry with mediamax as well, besides the service not working properly, 99% of all people lost half their data, they have billed me twice with a few days in between and have not responded to my emails for the last 3 months.
I wouldn't that this service again if my live depended on it.
  6. juan flores at 8:33am 28th August 2006 i'm angry with medaimax. I have not been able to acces my inbox to download any files plus i'm unable to see the name of my files because of the short name bar you have pu on them. one thing that got me pretty bad is that i can't get into my menber account
  7. Maxine at 3:48pm 1st February 2006 Hi Yin!

Maxine from Streamload here. :) I'm sorry to hear you had trouble with the site. On the day that you wrote, the site had some issues that were causing the kinds of problems that you describe. The issues were resolved that day, and those problems are a thing of the past. As we roll out this new service, bugs can come up from time to time but our engineers are very quick to squash them.

To address some of your other concerns:

    1. We're currently working on the multi-file uploader for Firefox; it will return to the site quite soon. We're also working on offering FTP uploading to Streamload MediaMax, which should be ready very shortly. In the meantime, you can use multi-file upload in IE6.

    2. Sharing files is done either through the Mail tab, or by hosting files for others to access. Clicking the "Help" link within Streamload MediaMax will lead you to our documentation that shows you how. Or, you can reach our support staff at support@streamload.com; our team is available 24/7, and almost all support requests are resolved within 24 hours.

    3. All of our development is done in-house, right here in downtown San Diego, California. We don't outsource our engineering -- no one is more than a paper airplane away. :)

Again, I'm sorry we weren't able to leave a better impression on you the first time around. Please visit us again, I'm sure you'll love us. If you have any other questions or feedback, feel free to contact me at maxine [at] streamload.com!

    Best wishes,
    Maxine
  8. Yin at 7:18pm 27th January 2006 I transferred some music this morning. I got mostly site errors and frustrated, uploading each file separately sux. I even managed to see xml displayed in the browser. I could not find a way to share anything. My window also kept refreshing. Maybe because I use firefox. Looks like this is one of those "companies" that is someone programming from a Ukrainian storage unit. Outsourcing never works.
