Toshiba’s New Notebook Lines

Toshiba has announced a ton of new notebooks today in just about every product line the company carries.

Toshiba Satellite M45 Notebook Series

The new Toshiba M45-S165 is priced at $1049 and features a 15.4-inch LCD display using Trubrite technology (licensed by Sony), an Intel Celeron M CPU, Windows XP Home, 512MB of memory, an 80GB hard drive, and 802.11b/g wireless networking. The system weighs about 6Lbs.

The M45-S265 adds faster processors, and an integrated media player that lets you play DVD’s or CD’s without booting up the system in computer mode. It also features a larger 100GB hard drive. The M45-S355 adds 1GB of memory, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.

Toshiba Qosmio Line

The new Qosmio line from Toshiba includes the F25-AV205 and G25-AV513 notebooks. The F25-AV205 is priced at $19,999 and comes with a 15.4-inch Trubrite display, Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005, an integrated TV tuner with DVR functions, a DVD/CD Dual Layer writer and surround-sound speakers. The system also comes with a 100GB 5400RPM hard drive, 1GB of memory, and Nvidia GeForce 6 GO 6600 graphics. You can watch DVD’s or listen to CD’s without having to boot up the system.

The G25-AV513 is Toshiba’s top-of-the-line Qosmio system priced at $2,999 and adds a larger 120GB of storage capacity (two 60GB drives) in a RAID array (is this the first notebook with RAID?), 1GB of DDR2 memory, a Dual Layer DVD Writer, Pentium M CPU running at faster speeds that the F25 and SRS Surround Sound.

Toshiba M55 Series

The M55 series by Toshiba includes the most colorful systems of the bunch available in sunlight copper and mist gray. They include a 14-inch screen, Dual Layer DVD drives, 512MB of memory, and Harmon/Kardon speakers.  The M55-S135 is priced at an affordable $1,049 dollars and comes with a Pentium M Celeron CPU and an 80GB hard drive. The S325 model adds a faster processor, 100GB hard drive, FireWire and a 5-in-1 media card reader and is priced at $1,399.

Toshiba Satellite P35 series

And lastly, the new P35-S605 notebook from Toshiba is the desktop replacement of the group and features a full Pentium 4 processor running at 3.4GHz, ATI Mobility 9000 IGP graphics, 512MB of memory, Dual Layer DVD writer and a media card reader. The P35-S605 will start at $1,799.

Toshiba Tecra A5

The Toshiba Tecra A5 is a light-weight, literally. Weighing in at under five pounds, the A5 is only 1.2-inches thin and comes with a 14-inch widescreen display, has integrated 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth, an Intel Pentium M CPU, Nvidia GeForce Go 6200 graphics, 512MB of memory and a 40GB hard drive.
