Velocity Micro Goes Retail
Velocity Micro has moved its NoteMagix L80x Ultra into select Best Buy stores, chock full of Core 2 Duo goodness and Nvidia graphics.
Boutique computer maker Velocity Micro is moving into mainstream channels, announcing a deal which puts its high-end NoteMagix L80x Ultra notebook systems into select Best Buy retail stores.
“We are thrilled to offer this one-of-a-kind notebook to Best Buy’s customers,” said Randy Copeland, Velocity Micro CEO and President, in a release. “The L80x Ultra delivers the award winning performance and meticulous handcraftsmanship Velocity Micro is famous for, and represents one of the most feature-rich notebooks available in retail today.”
The 6.5 pound L80x is aimed at the gamer, multimedia, and PC enthusiast market, sporting an Intel Core 2 Duo processor T7200 running at 2 GHz, 2GB of Corsair RAM, an Nvidia GeForce Go 7600GS graphics controllers, a 100 GB 7,200 rpm hard drive, and a 1,680 by 1,050 pixel 15.4-inch LCD display. The L80x also sports a built-in Webcam for video conferencing (and all-important taunting during online game play), as well as a fingerprint reader. Prices start at $1,999.
