WinBook LX Notebook For $699

WinBook today announced its ultra-portable $699 WinBook LX ultra-value model, the lowest-priced model in WinBook’s twelve year history.

The new WinBook LX features Intel Celeron M processor C350 (1.3 GHz, 400 MHz FSB, 512k Cache), widescreen 12.1-inch WXGA (1,280 x 800), and Linspire 4.5 operating system ($798 with Microsoft WindowsXP Home – see table). WinBook also introduced the $899 WinBook X510, WinBook’s lowest-priced model with Intel Centrino Mobile Technology.

“Until now, consumers have had to pay a premium for notebooks designed to be light enough for true road warriors,” said Dan Burns, WinBook president. “The WinBook LX and lower-priced WinBook X models change the equation by making our smallest, lightest notebooks our most affordable notebooks yet.”

The new lower-priced WinBook X Series models now offer Microsoft Windows XP Home. Previously, all WinBook X models came standard with Windows XP Professional.
