I tried to get an upgrade and was successful ( you can simply lie and say you got your comp anytime from June til now and get it for 14.99 (overpriced even at that price) from windowsupgradeoffer.com which its claimed is available in 131 countries.) I received my emails, got my discount voucher, used the considerably useless ‘ upgrade assistant ‘ and was told the upgrade wasn’t available in my country/region – I’m in Canada.

For an OS that isn’t really selling that well, that you can really only get with the purchase of a new machine that people don’t really need, upping the price so drastically is a phenomenally stupid move. Good one MS…
