Will devices that use CDs and DVDs be around in 5-7 years? Mobile phones, tablet devices and smart tvs don’t rely on DVDs and CDs and a lot of attention is shifting there for entertainment viewing…..

If I remember correctly.. CD’s where supposed to already be like this. Only due to cost, they where made cheaper which is why they can get old and fall apart. and $3 a disk is a bit steep for everyday use.
