Remee has no kind of REM sensing like the NovaDreamer lucid dream mask it tries to copy, so Remee is unfortunately more like a semi-randomized alarm clock. There are computer and smart phone apps that flash the screen with similar REM period timing estimates as Remee yet are free or cost only a few dollars.

Lucid dreaming though is a powerful skill, plus tons of fun to boot. It doesn't have to be control. What a dreamer chooses once lucid is up to the dreamer, and it might simply be to enjoy the dream with a richer presence or transform a recurring nightmare into something much more empowering.

Lucid dreaming is not as difficult to the point that an inducer is required. Lucid dreaming takes a lot of stamina therefore requires a person to have good physical and metal stamina. Inducing lucid dreaming in this way could be quite harmful to the body if it actually works because the same amount of energy would be required to maintain lucidity and the dreamer will wake up feeling exhausted.

Still it might create a few nut case and accident through physical and mental exhaustion. There nothing wrong with trying it. But if you are physically fit you might have more natural lucid dreams anyway. Lucid dream happen by changing what you are looking at in your dreams hence the changing lights in Remee. Except when it happened naturally your body is able to cope with it but this might not be the case with Remee.

Maybe there is a study out there or one will be done soon that either proves or disproves that this would, in fact, actually interrupt sleep and rest your brain is getting. It very well may not.

heh, I hear ya. personally, I barely get sleep, and what little I do, I don't remember my dreams. So I would give this a shot, because I don't think it could screw me up any more than my lack of sleep already does!

I'm not so much skeptical about this, but more skeptical about how healthy the whole concept of lucid dreaming is. I just can't help but get the slight feeling the ability to consciously control what's going on in your dreams is kind of counterintuitive to the point of sleep and resting your brain.
