Just recently picked this up because I wanted to use bluetooth (2.4 Ghz) with a phone and my existing 2.4 Ghz phone created too much interference.

Overall the Uniden isn’t too bad. It looks pretty good and seems to hold up well. Metal headset jack which should last a while. Decent reception, although I’m never more than about 10-12 feet away. Pretty easy to use, you’ll handle the talk and end buttons quickly. Low points are only 10 or so phone book entries, uses both 5.8 Ghz AND 900 Mhz, so it will conflict with some wireless keyboards/mice and wireless headphones. The answering machine is ok. Volume control on the phone offers a decent range but the answering maching volume and ringer only give you the options of REALLY LOUD or ultra quiet.

It was the cheapest 5.8Ghz phone out there and doesn’t fight with my WiFi and bluetooth. Not perfect, but not too bad at < $60.

This phone has got to be the worst Cordless Phone I have ever owned. I bought it due to my son breaking my other one. I was impressed with the 5.8 GHZ but it doesnt really really stay there. actually it goes down to 900mhz. But wait till you see what happens when you go into another room with it. You lose your call. Also big problem was the phone decided to crap the bed with charging. I thought it was the battery so I bought a new one, and it still wont keep a charge. Now it is a very expensive Answering machine sitting in the bedroom.

Have had this phone/ans machine for two and a half months and suddenly it breaks up and disconnects while using it within 6 feet of the base. Very disappointing. Misleading packaging makes it appear to be a true digital 5.8 mhz when it is not. Does not have a ringer off feature, either. Don’t bother with this phone.

This would be a fine phone for someone who lives in a shoe box! At about 12 feet from the base station it tells you that it is unavailable.
I contacted their help line, but when I complained he said “Thank you for calling Uniden” and put the phone down on me.
