I know a lot of PC users knock Apple, but you really need to try some of their products. The 17″ iMac is so sweet. It looks awesome, is super quiet and sounds great. Apple is certianly moving in the right direction….try them out guys.

I believe the true beauty of this product lies in Mac OS X. After using the new iMac and closely comparing it with other Mac and PC models I feel it rates good for the all-in-one computer. I only have two complaints: 1. The LCD screen I feel is sub-par. The viewing angle is extremely narrow and the color shift is very noticeable. I wasn’t expecting Cinema Display quality, but the picture even looked better on a Ti Powerbook.
2. Price… This machine (any Apple in general) is way overpriced for the offerings. You can expect to pay at least 1/3 less for a PC with equal offerings. I guess the style and shiny Apple logo warrant the extra price (For those who think trendy should equal $$$).

Working on both XP and OS-X machines I can strongly advise in favor of the Mac.

I bet that this product gets alot of eyeballin from the techie crowd. Sleek looks man! and tons of functionality from what I can see. I’m a hard core PC fan from way back but, I may have to change my thinking some if Apple continues to put out machines like this one.

I’ve owned the 17″ for 6 months now… it’s solid, the screen is HUGE and the pivot screen is used more than first thought. iDVD is interesting and have been moving over my VHS video tapes to DVDs. I’ve owned about 6 machines over the last 20 years and this is the best by a large margin.

Apple, Bang & Olufsen…. they all not what they are doing.
These are what I consider the design leaders… their aesthetics almost make me give no consideration to their content.
The iMac is great, however the lack of expansion is what worries me. I think the iMac has its own target audience, however for my needs I would need to jump up to the Powermac.

The flat panel iMac has so many positives, I couldnt list them all here. If you are a serious 3D gamer, this computer is probably not right for you, due to the budget (but still quite powerful) GeForce4MX video card. This computer is far faster than the processor speed might suggest, and has ample power to handle very demanding tasks such as real-time video editing and effects rendering. With all the bundled software that is included you probably wont need to spend hundreds or thousands for additional boxed software. Besides all the power features and super-cool apearance, this computer is virtually silent (an attribute that is valued more each day you use it).

I have always used a pc, not any more. Mac works, it does what YOU want it to do. OS X is dream, decades beyond anything Windows has. Try Mac, you’ll agree.

I use a PC and two Apples, a iMac (17)
And a G5 with a 23 display
I love the iMac. Small, compact, no tower, swivel screen, powerful, quiet, 80gig HD and DVD what more do you want?
