I got my D90 a few weeks ago and I’m loving it. I’ve used a D200 before and the difference in weight and IQ at high ISO is significant, at ISO 200 they are about the same, it’s true that the D200 can render beautiful skin tones, but so does the D90, with a little tweaking… I shoot RAW so WB and exposure are done post processing. All I can say is if you have $1000 and want a lightweight incredible powerful package, go for the D90, if you need the sturdiness and weather sealing of a tank, go with the D200 (an amazing camera as well). The whole video thing shouldn’t be considered, except for very occasional family vids. It’s a DSLR not a camcorder!

I have been using my new D90 now for a couple of weeks and while I like all the features and especially the wide range ISO options I’m still not convinced it is that much better, if at all, then my Olympus e-510. I don’t know if it is because of the Nikon’s default rather muted color reproduction or because the Oly processes color a little bit truer, but I haven’t captured much with the D90 that pops at me the way the Oly has.

I have had this camera now for two weeks. Much better LCD screen then my Nikon D80. Fantastic in house camera functions. Much better then the D80 in low light situations. Beautiful image quality.

This is my 5th or 6th nikon digital. I have most recently been using the D80, a camera which I will still carry and found this slight upgrade to be well worth the money. I mated it with a battery pack and have found the battery life to be tremendous. During the month I have owned the camera I have taken close to 1000 pix in snow, beach and low light conditions and like it very well.
Pros: photo quality, auto setting is more accurate than most, love the higher ISO with reduced noise, size
    Cons: very happy with camera

Excellent camera. Small camera, big results.

I am a free-lance travel photographer that loves the smaller size and weight of the D90. The results meet my – and my editors – needs, the battery life is unreal (I use the MB-80 which holds two batteries), and the live-view and video are an extra bonus.

I also enjoy the wireless flash results with my SB-600 that make setting up location lighting very easy. The whole camera system makes the D90 a great tool while on the road.

From mountain biking trips, to river cruises, to white water, my D90s (I have two)keep up with me and preform wonderful under any condition. The focus, metering, speed … it all works for me.

It is not the camera one should question, it is the results. This camera gets you the results. No question.

Don’t even get me started with the price … Yes, I could have gone with the D300, I chose two D90s and have never thought twice about it.

    Money well spent. That simple.
