The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ47 bridge camera unites high-end point and shoot functionality with its DSLR-like chassis (hence its ‘bridge’ designation). It features a 12.1-megapixel, 1/2.3″ CCD image sensor, a 24x optical zoom lens with an equivalent 25 – 600 mm focal length, and a fixed 3-inch display with 460k-dot resolution. Full HD 1080i video capture is made available on this device at 60 and 30 frames per second, with additional lower resolution recording options provided. For storage, the DMC-FZ47 includes 70 MB of internal memory, with a microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot included for expansion. Additional features include HDMI (mini) output, USB 2.0 connectivity, an integrated orientation sensor, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery power supply, rated good for approximately 400 shots per charge.
