    Mine stopped working 10 days after purchase. This was 3 days into the 4 week trip that was my reason for buying it.

    Sony would not allow me to return the camera for a refund or a replacement. They required that I ship it to Precision Camera in CT for repair. Precision Camera diagnosed the problem quickly but estimates a 2 to 6 week wait for parts from Sony!!!!!!!!

    I called Sony and was told parts are not available because this is a new product. They reiterated that their corporate policy was “no refunds, no replacements”. Also they will not extend the warranty to cover my time without a camera!

    I thought Sony was a better company. No more Sony products for me.

    your review is very bad. You did not even talk about the image quality, or hot shoe. Nor did you test the speed of the camera. Furthermore, you did not talk about PF and CA of this camera. IF you were not so busy being hooked on brand names “Sony” and “Cannon” you would find that the panasonic DMC-FZ5 is much better in image quality AND speed (highest quality 4 shots at 3fps with 1.3 sec delay)

    YOu sicken me with this poor review.

    I love my camera, BUT when I misplaced or lost the supplied software that came with it, Sony would not give me replacement without charging me again for something I have already paid for & registered. How unfair is that?

    I was in the market for my first digital camera. All I knew was I wanted 5MP’s, and good optical zoom. I came across this camera at Walmart and was sold on it, after a helpful employee told me everything about it. I took it on vacation a few days later and was amazed at how easy it is to take professional qaulity pictures in the auto mode!! I also played around with the manual modes and was very pleased. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for their first digital camera. Don’t be fooled by the looks of it, it’s not that hard to operate. The 12x optical zoom is unreal, and has a image stabilizer to make those far away shots clear. I also like that it takes 2- AA batteries, and comes with Sony rechargeables. I took over 200 pictures, most without flash on my trip and did not have to worry about the batteries. This camera is professional grade…… I do recommend getting the 1GB memory stick right away, it’s worth every penny!! A very, very pleased customer. Thanks Sony.

    Zoom, Imaging & Quality :- Excellent.

    Sony Aftersales :- Expensive, Uncaring & Unhelpful.

    Parts Prices :- Extortionate!
