While Mobile World Congress has traditionally been about mobile phones, if tech has taught us anything, it’s that traditions don’t last long. Case in point: two interesting smartwatches from LG. Both have been unfortunately named “LG Watch Urbane,” but we’ll overlook that for now. We got close-up with the new watches so check out the Urbane here and also the Urbane LTE.
Going back to actual phones, Samsung let us get our grubby hands on their new S6 and it’s slick variant, the S6 Edge, and we’ve gotta say, these are some very nice new devices. The S6 is finished in metal and glass, has wireless charging built in, packs 64-bit processing and up to 128 gigs of RAM. There’s also a new user interface. Here’s a closer look and video.
Phone maker HTC overshadowed it’s own phone offerings at MWC by revealing a virtual reality headset developed in tandem with iconic game maker Valve, who are famous for their Steam OS gaming platforms. The HTC “Vive” headset doesn’t use a clip-in phone like Samsung’s Gear VR, it’s actually more similar to the stand-alone Oculus VR. When is going to be available?
