With a chance to make Halo 4 its own, developer 343 Industries has revamped the multiplayer enough so that what’s familiar is still there, but there are enough new changes to give players a fresh look at the franchise. In Halo: Reach, 343 introduced an online multiplayer hub, and it has continued it with the Halo remastering. The new ship, Infinity, is the continues the concept with loadouts, statistics and friends lists. And apparently, it has a giant simulation room.
There are a number of new changes to gameplay that include ordinance drops for players on a run, somewhat reminiscent of Call of Duty’s Killstreak system that rewards players for kills and without deaths. The other is the new Regicide mode, which is somewhat similar to “King of the Hill” except the King dies. There’s also “Spartan Episodes” which offer co-op missions for players to explore and add to the story of the Halo universe.
At the moment, Halo 4 is set to be released this coming fall in time for the holiday season.
