Capcom showed off the new Resident Evil 6 during Microsoft’s E3 press conference. Why Microsoft? Because the initial DLC packs for RE6 will be released on the Xbox 360 first.
Based on the demo that Capcom showed at the conference, RE6 will be following the same kind of control patterns that RE5 featured, with a heavy dose of action. Six returns Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield for the latest outbreak of bioterrorism. The above trailer is very heavy on Kennedy with Redfield showing up late in the trailer.
Resident Evil 6 is supposed to take place a decade after the initial Raccoon City events (and about four years after RE5). The President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind Raccoon City in an attempt to curb the resurgence in bioterrorist activity. However, during the President’s speech, a bioterrorist attack occurs forcing Leon Kennedy to make a hard decision about saving him. Redfield finds himself in China, itself under the threat of a bioterrorist attack. Six will also be the first time that Kennedy and Chris Redfield have been really teamed up to face down bioterrorism. Of course, there will be several new characters as well, each of whom have their own connections to the twisted Resident Evil world.
Resident Evil 6 is slated for an October 2 release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
