The Kindle is also lighter, smaller, has plenty of room to hold thousands of books, and comes with 3G connection. In contrast the iPad is bulky, heavier, has a screen that could hurt the eyes if used for too long, and the Wi-Fi version (making two versions is not a good idea in my opinion) has a limited locations in which it can be used. The iPad’s pros are the ability to connect to the internet, has a much larger memory capacity, and a backlight.

Personally, I would go with the kindle for two major reasons. Longer battery life and a book collection online (which you can access anywhere). The kindle also doesn’t hurt your eyes (I have one I know), and can hold plenty of books.
