Take an EGO Dip with Your iPod

Can't imaging taking a shower or relaxing in a pool without your iPod? Atlantic Inc's EGO ice and iceBar 2 waterproof iPod cases are now shipping.

If the thought of leaving your precious iPod behind for even a few minutes while you take a shower, relax in a pool, or hang out on a boat is just too much to bear, the Atlantic Inc. wants you to know its EGO ice and iceBar2 waterproof cases for the iPod are now available from retailers like Best Buy and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

"The EGO line of waterproof speaker cases allows iPod owners to enjoy their favorite music and videos in practically any setting," said Atlanitic Inc. COO James Dardashti, in a statement.

Best Buy is carrying the EGO ice, a portable, waterproof, floating boombox that accommodates the iPod nano, iPod mini, iPod classic, and fourth- and fifth-generation iPods. The Ego ice features a clear click wheel membrane with an o-ring seal so users can control their iPods without worrying about moisture getting at them; the unit runs off four AA batteries, offers full-range neodymium drivers and sealed bass ports, along with separate power and volume controls. Atlantic Inc. says it’ll play about 30 hours of music off one set of batteries; it’s available for $89.99.

Bed, Bath, and Beyond has jumped on the iceBar2, which is aimed more at in-home uses…like the shower. The iceBar2 handles the current video-capable iPod nano, runs off four AAA batteries, and offers 16 hours of music playback, along with an external power button, neodymium speakers, and a jack port that enables users to hook up headphones for that long soak in the tub. The iceBar2 carries a suggested price of $79.99.
