Altec Lansing has officially launched their new inMotion iM5 audio dock for use with the Apple iPod product line.

Sized smaller than the Bose SoundDock, Altec Lansing is branding the iM5 as more of a portable solution. The iM5 can run off of either battery or AC power and comes with a carrying bag that allows you to take the unit on the road with you. The iM5 also has a shock-resistant frame that is supposed to withstand bumps for on-the-go use.   According to Altec Lansing, the iM5 features four full-range micro drivers powered by an efficient Class D amplifier that is supposed to give off a full-bodied sound and rich bass.   Other features include video connectivity for your iPod photo that lets you show off your pictures on a television by directly connecting the iM5. The inMotion iM5 Mobile Audio Dock is available now at retailers and www.alteclansing.com  and will have an MSRP of $149.95.
