Apple Faces Multiple iPod Patent Suits

Hong Kong-based Pat-rights and Chicago-based Advanced Audio Devices are both suing Apple for patent infringment.

“Pat-rights is demanding 12 percent of gross sales from iTunes music tracks and iPods. According to the company, Apple has less than three weeks to accept the offer or it may sue. Pat-rights said it would seek damages up to three times its original value if Apple does not comply.”

Advanced Audio Devices appears to be after Apple for their iPod design which could have originally been created by Advanced Audio Devices. This is speculation at this point, but based on the patent description it sounds like Apple could have unrightfully used the design concept.
