Apple Shuffles iPod Colors

Apple Shuffles iPod Colors

Apple adds a (tiny) splash of color to our dreary lives, releasing blue, pink, orange, and green versions of its tiny iPod shuffle digital music player.

Apple today announced the availability of its tiny iPod shuffle music players in new vibrant colors—blue, pink, orange, green—in addition to the original silver. Otherwise, the shuffle’s specs, pricing, and really, really tiny size remain unchanged: 1 GB of memory, $79, and a scant half a cubic inch in volume.

"iPod shuffle is the world’s most wearable digital music player," said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s VP of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing, in a statement. "Music fans can now choose iPod shuffle in one of five brilliant colors, or they can buy one of each."

The shuffles offer up to 12 hours of battery life, and ship with a clip, earbuds, and a dock for connecting to a Mac or PC via a USB 2.0 connection. The devices support MP3, WAV, AIFF, and AAC audio, and of course support copy-protected music from Apple’s iTunes Store…but don’t support WMA or protected WMA tracks purchased from other vendors.

Shiny and tiny. Hey, that rhymes!
