After a bit of perseverence, i found that, when frozen, it will turn off by holding the power button for ~ 10 seconds. It has frozen more than once, and this has always worked for me. Silly me thinking I could put my entire music library in it with no problem. This thing says it holds up to 15,000 songs or so many hours of video. It is very trendy and a great idea but proven not to be perfected. I had it eleven days and put around 2,000 songs in it and about an hour of video. It locked up on me, it became stuck and you can not clear it by turning off the power or removing its battery to have it reboot. Had to take it back to exchange. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of downloads that I should have left on my computer. But I thought for the price I paid, I had nothing to worry about. Well HOW UNFORTUNATE, WHEN I EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER ARCHOS 404, I DOWNLOADED ABOUT 40 SONGS AND ON DAY TWO IT FROZE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. YOU CAN NOT TURN IT OFF WHEN ITS FROZEN....YOU ARE JUST STUCK. I really like this product, I found none other like it but it is not perfected so I had to give it up.
