Belkin Redesigns FM Tuner for Apple iPod

Named the Belkin TuneFM, this new device lets you play music from your iPod through any FM stereo receiver.

While the concept is nothing new, Belkin is hoping their new design will grab your attention. The TuneFM plugs into the remote/headphone jack on your iPod and lets you listen to the music on your iPod through the FM frequency on any stereo, including of course your car.

The TuneFM features an LED display which will indicate the frequency and memory preset so you don’t have to look at your iPod to see the details. The TuneFM doesn’t require any batteries of its own and lets you toggle between 2 channels using a built-in programmable memory slot.

When trying to keep an add on like this as small as possible, and it likely consumes very little battery power, it makes sense to use the iPod battery for juice.
  2. ECA at 8:00pm 15th October 2005 Its interesting, that ALOt of these devices, use the power of the IPOD itself..thats the little toggle next to the plug. THIS will let the item use the power of the Ipod, and also LESSEN the battery time.
Items like this only need a AA battery to last ALONG time, as the range only needs to be 3-10 feet, NOT 25-100, as MOST do.
