iRiver E10 Unlikely to Hit U.S. Shores

If there ever was an Apple nano killer, the iRiver E10 would likely be it, unfortunately it will unlikely see the U.S. - at least for a while.

At just a tad bit thicker than Apple’s iPod nano, the iRiver E10 uses a Shockwave Flash GUI, has an intuitive menu system, supports several audio codes, plays games, and even doubles as a remotecontrol for your television. The only problem is that it will most likely not hit U.S. shores, at least not until the iRiver Clix is finished with the spotlight.   In a brief e-mail conversationwith iRiver’s Jonathan Sasse we were told:   “The E10 is essentially a second generation H10 device, borrowing some of the interface elements of the U10 product line, including the iriver clix.We will continue to build on the clix platform here in the US as we look to expand upon the recent 2GB rollout.”   “It is unlikely that the e10 will make it to the US market, but that is alwayssomething we are evaluating, given the recent successful launch of the iriver clix in the US, we are looking to leverage the design and exceptional usability of that device and platform for futuredevice launches in the US market.”   What’s our take? Wait for the Clix push to cool down a little and then expect to look for the E10 to hit the states. So far the reviews have been positive, and consumer interest is there. We are definately excited to see this player come to our store shelves.   Until then, you can pick up the iRiver E10from importers like Warehouse123.com. A 6GB version costs $279.00 which really isn’t that bad. But we would expect the priceto be lower than $250 if it wants to succeed in the U.S. market.

  2. Angus at 11:07am 15th June 2006 Seem it is using iriver plus 2 to transfer music. I check iRiver site! This player only have white and black available.
  3. Tim Stevens at 10:16am 15th June 2006 Ohhh. I want one. You can use it as a remote! Looks good too, but does it come in any other colors than white? I want a red or blue one.

What software does it use to transfer music to it?
  4. Rebecca at 10:06am 15th June 2006 Will it be in english language? The Warehouse site doesn't mention anything.
  5. Keith at 10:05am 15th June 2006 I am sure this will make it here, iRiver is not run by dummies (for the most part) and the E10 is a sweet player. I have ordered mine from Warehouse123.com today. Just waiting for delivery!
