iRiver is responding to customer complaints regarding the lack of firmware upgrades by releasing a schedule of anticipated updates.
In response to customer complaints on iRiver’s own community forums and perhaps moved even more by the press this movement received, iRiver has released an upgrade schedule for their H Series hard drive based portable audio players.
According to the release from iRiver, two firmware upgrades are currently scheduled for H100s: one is “expected end of July ~ early August” with a second “expected in October” along with an upgrade for H300s.
Included in the fixes/new features for the H100 Series are several fixes for issues that were brought to iRiver’s attention. Among these are on-the-fly file deletion, real shuffle mode, on-the-fly playlist and gapless playback. Owners of these devices should definitely browse the list of fixes and new features on the upgrade schedule.
