Apple's pioneering online music service iTunes music store is expected to launch in the UK next week.
The service will offer UK iPod owners the chance to buy music from the site for their devices for the first time.
It has proved enormously popular in the US, with more than 70 million songs downloaded by users in its first year.
ITunes is due to be unveiled in London on 15 June, according to sources. Apple’s rival Napster launched a legal download service in the UK on 20 May.
