JVC Debuts Flash Memory MP3 Players

Two new models from consumer electronics company offer multiple colors and sport in-line MP3 encoding.

JVC today announced two new flash memory based digital audio players with offer direct recording and different exterior color choices. The new 512MB XA-F57 and 1GB XA-F107 are priced at $99 and $149 respectively and should be available later this month.

The XA-F57, said JVC, comes in white, pink or silver, while the XA-F107 comes in gray, pink or black. These players also sport an analog input for in-line MP3 encoding, allowing users to record audio from other sources such as CD players or radios.

Other features of these two players include playback of MP3 and WMA music files, support of online subscription services which use copy protected WMA music files, a USB 2.0 port with USB mass storage support, earbud headphones which double as a lanyard for wearing the player around one’s neck, a four-line dot matrix backlit LCD and a built-in rechargeable battery.
