Computer software giant announces a partnership with a cable industry research group which will make Windows Media Center-based PCs available next year HD cable ready.
Microsoft and CableLabs, an industry research group, yesterday announced a partnership which will make it easier for future owners of Windows Media Center-based PCs to watch high definition digital cable programming.
The partnership will make Media Center-based PCs due to be available in the holiday 2006 time frame capable of supporting a CableCARD module. This cards, which are the same as those inserted into compatible slots in more than 370 models of digital televisions manufactured by 22 companies,
