Real Reincorporates iPod Compatibility

News.com is reporting that RealNetworks has re-established iPod compatibility with their music software - for now at least.

Last year, RealNetworks was able to make their Harmony music download software compatible with Apple’s popular iPod MP3 player. Apple however quickly released a patch destroying the compatibility between the two. Well, Real is back and this time you can use their music software to play their songs on the Apple iPod once again. At least until Apple releases an updated patch again.

“RealNetworks’ Harmony software, which allows songs to be played directly on an iPod or on a Microsoft-based device, is limited to the company’s pay-per-song store. Songs downloaded through the new Rhapsody portable subscription service are compatible only with a small number of Windows-based MP3 players. “
