SanDisk Intros HD Video Flash Cards

SanDisk is bringing in a line of HD video flash cards for the new generation of digital camcorders.

It was bound to happen, but SanDisk is apparently making sure it comes sooner rather than later. If you own one of the newer HD camcorders, you want HD memory. Now the company has come up with just that, as they showed at CES.   The SanDisk Video HD cards will be available in SDHC (high-capacity) and Memory Stick PRO Duo formats, and will be identifiedby minutes of recording time as well as by capacity.   "Until now, it has been difficult for consumers to select the memory card that is the most suitable for their camcorders, and equallydifficult to calculate the amount of recording time they have available from the various resolution settings," said Susan Park, senior product marketing manager for SanDisk’s Cards andAccessories Division.   The cards will be available in four and eight GB versions. They’ll be available in March, with suggested retail prices of $79.99 and $139.99, respectively, for the4GB and 8GB SDHC cards, and $79.99 and $149.99, respectively, for the Memory Stick PRO Duo cards.
