SlingPlayer Mobile Supports New Devices

Sling Media announces the public beta of its SlingPlayer Mobile software now supports Windows Mobile Edition Smartphone Edition devices.

Sling Media today announced the public beta of software to let Windows Mobile Edition Smartphone Edition device owners viewing access to their Slingboxes. This new software is compatible with devices that run Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Smartphone Edition version 5.0.

The new SlingPlayer Mobile beta, said Sling Media, will work with compatible devices such as the Motorola Q, T-Mobile SDA and the i-mate SP5m. The software allows Slingbox users the ability to remotely access and view the video contents of devices such as a cable box which is attached to the Slingbox. Additionally, a user can also control their home digital video recorder (DVR) to watch recorded shows, pause, rewind, and fast forward live TV, or even queue new recordings while on the road.

At the completion of the public beta period, SlingPlayer Mobile will be available for $29.99. There are no monthly or recurring charges for the use of the software.
