V-Moda's Crossfade LP headphones sport a fashion-forward look with frequency response from 5 to 30K Hz. Plus a $250 price tag.

V-Moda is best known for trying to put style in its high-end headphones, offering solid audio quality with trend-complaint fashion-friendly designs defintely designed to appeal to the high-end shopper. Well, over-the-ear cans must be getting fashionable again: the company has just unveiled its V-Moda Crossfade LP headphones

“We created Crossfade LP to provide an epic sound that recreates the sensations of the best club systems with a distinct design that makes these an essential fashion accessory for all music lovers,” said V-Moda CEO Val Kolton, in a statement. “Our collaboration with the world’s top musicians and DJs helped us to create the ultimate over-ear headphones that raise the bar in sound, style and durability. When you put these headphones on, you feel like you just hit the dance floor of a rocking club in Ibiza.”

Stylistically, the Riviera set might be who V-Moda is targeting: the over-the-ear headphones are designed to be lightweight and offer a “tailored” fashionable fit without “unsightly caps,” all without feeling like they’re trying to crap your ears into the middle of your skull. V-Moda says they tested the design for four years, with the results being a tough frame, memory headband, and detachable Kevlar-reinforced cables.

The cans themselves feature a patent-pending 50mm dual-diaphragm driver and frequency response from 5 Hz to 30 kHz—yes, those are both beyond the typical range of human hearing, but audiophiles will tell you there can be a distinct difference in the quality of systems that just barely match the range of human hearing and those which exceed it, particularly with high-fidelity recordings. The phones tome with a detachable cable with a three-button remove control that can be used to control iPods, iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks, and also come with an “exoskeleton” carrying case for portability.

The Crossfade LPs will cost you: they’re on sale now at Apple stores and from V-Moda’s online store for $249.99. But they’ll be available in White Pearl, Phantom Chrome, and Gunmetal Black.

  1. estetik cerrahi at 3:17am 18th June 2010 Good blog. I got a lot of good information. I've been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It's interesting how it keeps varying, yet some of the core factors stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their most recent acquisition in the field?
