ViewSonic's new VPD400 MovieBook packs 8 GB of storage and a 4.3-inch 800 by 480-pixel LCD display for taking movies, photos, books, and music on the go.
Display maker ViewSonic has introduced its new VPD400 MovieBook, a high-definition portable media player that enables users to watch videos, listen to music, share photos, and more—at a very wallet-friendly price. The VD400 features an 800 by 480-pixel high-resolution 4.3-inch display that can handle 720p high definition video content, and can play back up to 6 hours of video on a single battery charge.
“Today’s consumers have more gadgets than ever, most dedicated to performing a singular function,” said ViewSonic North America VP and general manager Jeff Volpe, in a statement. “Our new MovieBook is designed to combine many of these individual devices into one, making digital content portable and user friendly.”
The VPD400 features that 4.3-inch display along with 8 GB of internal flash memory for storing images, music, video, and more. The VPD400 also supports SD cards for expandable storage, and users can sideload content via USB. The large capacity battery can handle up to 12 hours of music or 6 hours of video, and in addition to the headphone jack the VPD400 feature two integrated stereo speakers for sharing audio with friends. Users can hook the VPD400 up to a television or home theater system with an AV or component cable, and the unit even comes with a remote control so it’s easy to manage from across the room.
The VPD400 MovieBook will be available “in time for the holidays” in black, white, and pink versions for a suggested retail price of $129.99.
