In the fall of 2005, Vonage and Motorola will provide, via the Motorola VT2442, an all-in-one solution to broadband telephony and home networking.
Motorola and Vonage have partnered, offering customers the newly released Motorola VT2442 Vioce-over-IP (VoIP) that offers home networking features.
To streamline integrating broadband telephone service into a home network, the Motorola VT2442 offers a singular remedy. The VT2442 supplies two telephone jacks and supports call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID and three-way calling. Four Ethernet ports and firewall security round out the VT2442′s list of advanced features. The product offers customers a one-stop solution for Vonage broadband telephony, while sharing high-speed cable or DSL household-wide.
“Motorola is an ideal partner: they are a market leader in broadband- enabled products that are high-quality and easy-to-use. This partnership builds upon Vonage’s product portfolio giving customers more choice when they subscribe to our award-winning service,” said Jeffrey A. Citron, chairman and CEO of Vonage Holdings Corp. “Motorola is a proven partner with the experience and support to ensure the quality that is essential to our business.”
“By taking two complex technologies – Voice-over-IP telephone service and home networking – and bringing them together into a single product, the Motorola VT2442 is making the Vonage service even more convenient for customers,” said Charles Dougherty, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola Connected Home Solutions. “We’re proud to build on the extensive installed base of Motorola voice gateway products already bringing service into the homes of Vonage customers.”
