Hoping that scarcity will push demand. Sounds like Microsoft. More likely unavoidable manufacturing delays got in the way and they decided not to delay release untill the process was fixed. Still, if you make it scarce around Christmas you might be able to generate at least interest in the things. So far, I hear no one screaming that they can't get them. Except all the media.
