We have to admit that with every trailer that comes out for Sega and Gearbox’s Aliens: Colonial Marines, we just get more and more excited. Unfortunately, they’re making us wait for this one and it’s a surprisingly long wait at that–we first heard about Aliens last January, though Gearbox and Sega originally teased Aliens way, way back in 2008 in a Game Informer cover story. The most recent trailer from them was last summer in late August.
In the meantime, we have the above trailer which is made completely from game footage and shows off a group of marines entering the S.S. Sulaco, the ship that brought Ripley back to LV-426 in James Cameron’s Aliens. There are some nice homage shots inside, make sure to keep an eye out for them.
So far, we know that Aliens: Colonial Marines will be a first-person shooter with squad-based tactics. There’s also a drop-in/drop-out co-op mode that is available for the single player campaign but, of course, you can always go it alone. A competitive online multiplayer has been hinted as well, but Gearbox hasn’t confirmed much more than that.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to hit shelves on February 12, 2013 for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
