The walkthrough starts by introducing us to Alpha and Bravo, the protagonists of Devil’s Cartel. They’re on a mission to protect the mayor of La Puerta, who’s made it his goal to take down the Cartel — and they’re not too happy about that.
Devil’s Cartel will run on the Frostbite 2 engine, which, aside from giving the game incredibly gorgeous and smooth graphics, allows the environment to be extremely dynamic. Just about everything in the game is destructible, so the cover you take might not last long if your enemies have enough firepower to blast it to bits. However, that also means you’ll be able to shoot down their cover as well.
Much like the first Army of Two title, progression through the game relies heavily on cooperative gameplay. You and your partner aren’t likely to make it far if you don’t work together, but if you do, you’re rewarded. The more you cooperate, the more overkill points you’ll accumulate, which will come in handy when the game gets tough. Oh, and don’t let this walkthrough fool you — Beak mentions that they tweaked the game for this video so that overkill points accumulated faster and enemies were easier to kill. The final game, which is expected to be released in March of 2013, will be much more difficult.
