‘Assassin’s Creed III The Tyranny of King Washington DLC:’ Part 3 “The Redemption” Trailer

Well, it looks like the tyranny of the mad King Washington is finally drawing to a close. Aptly titled “Redemption,” the expansion is the final installment in a three-part series of Assassin’s Creed 3′s The Tyranny of King Washington DLC, a harrowing tale set in an alternate history following the American Revolution and George Washington’s subsequent power grab for the title of King. Although the first expansion, “The Infamy” was rather disappointing, the second chapter, “The Betrayal,” was a bit more promising and hinted at Washington’s inevitable demise. Check back with us for a review of Part 3 this week.

The trailer offers a taste of what to expect in the final chapter of the DLC series. There’s a fair share of robust naval battles, pyramids, red and blue-clad colonial soldiers, and some tomahawk-throwing cut scenes worthy of Mel Gibson’s patriotic praise. The ending trailer scene depicts what appears to be the final, stain-glass-shattering confrontation with the King, ending Ubisoft’s downloadable content for AS3 and tying gamers over until AS4: Black Flag hits shelves later this year.

The “The Redemption” is currently available on the PlayStation 3 ($8), Xbox 360 (640 MSP) and PC ($8), but Nintendo fans will have to wait until May 16 to download the expansion for the Wii U.
