For those that love to laugh manically while bathing themselves in the blood of the undead courtesy of Treyarch’s Call of Duty zombie maps, then you are in luck. And a little weird. But rejoice, following the announcement of the new zombie-only map pack Rezurrection, Activision and Treyarch have released a preview of the upcoming maps.
Treyarch’s zombie maps have long been a highlight for the online set. For some they are a welcome break from the competitive side that allows them to use the weapons and skills they know, but in a cooperative way. For others, they are the main reason to get online in the first place. Websites dedicated to the zombie experience have sprung up, and those that play—really play the maps, not just occasionally jump in for the odd game–have created something of a zombie killing community. It is for those fans that the next, and presumably final, Black Ops map pack was made.
Rezurrection features four remastered zombie maps from Call of Duty: World at War: “Shi No Numa—Swamp,” “Nacht Der Untoten—Night,” “Verruckt—Asylum” and “Der Reise—Factory.” Now, if you are a zombie fan from way back, you may already have these maps from purchasing the Call of Duty: Black Ops Prestige of Hardened editions, and you will receive the new map “Moon” at no cost. For those that passed on the Collector’s editions, or got into the zombie maps later, you will have all four at your disposal, as well as “Moon” for 1200 MS Points ($15).
The Rezurrection map pack will be available on August 23 for those playing on the Xbox 360. PC and PS3 users will have to wait a bit, probably four weeks or so judging by past releases.
