Signaling the inevitable end of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Activision announced today the fourth and final DLC, titled Apocalypse. The new content will include four new multiplayer maps, two of which are reimaginings of older CoD maps from Treyarch:
- Pod: A failed 1970’s utopian community settled near a cliff in Taiwan
- Frost: A snowy European city with a bridge that spans over a frozen canal.
- Takeoff: An offshore rocket launching facility in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, modeled on the map “Stadium,” from the Black Ops 1 DLC First Strike.
- Dig: An abandoned archaeological dig site set in Afghanistan, recreated from the Call of Duty: World of War map “Courtyard.”
The Apocalypse DLC will also include new zombie content called “Origins” – a WWI dieselpunk clusterf*@k that reunites the four characters from the original Zombies map; Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Richtofen.
Apocalypse is set to come out later this month on August 27th for Xbox 360 users, with other platforms to follow.
