About a week ago we wrote a post on how Insomniac games had changed the name of their upcoming game OverStrike, and are now calling it Fuse. Details on why are scarce, but from what we can gather the name refers to the games plot, which revolves around some sort of mysterious alien goo that the government has managed to weaponize. This weaponized space goo is then stolen from them, and it’s up to you and the rest of the OverStrike team to get it back.
This is the first trailer we’ve seen for the game, but it certainly looks like the premise led to some highly creative firearms. In the trailer we get a glimpse of four different ones: First is the the Magshield, which deflects bullets and dissolves enemies. Next is the Shattergun, which turns the bad guys into black and highly fragile crystalline statues that shatter when shot. After that its the ArcShot, which does just what it sounds like and can fire bullets with a curved path of motion. And finally we see the Antimatter Warp Rifle, which appears to just blow the sh*% out of people.
No details on the release date yet, but we do know that this is the first title from Insomniac that will be released for both PS3 and Xbox 360.
